흔히 윌 알스테르그렌으로 알려진 에드바르드 윌리엄 알스테르그렌 QC(Edvard William Alstergren QC, 1962년 4월 12일 출생)[1][3][4]는 호주의 법학자로서 2018년 12월 10일부터 호주 가정법원 대법원장, 2017년 10월 13일부터 호주 연방 순회법원 부장판사직을 맡고 있다.
알스테르그렌은 질롱 문법 학교, 스카치 칼리지, 멜버른[5] 문법 학교에 다녔다.[6]1991년 멜버른 대학에서 예술 학사, 법학 학사 학위를 받았으며, 트리니티 대학에 거주했으며, 이후 2010년 법학 석사 과정을 마쳤다.[7]1991년 멜버른에서 변호사 개업을 시작하여 상법, 세법, 산업법, 가정법 등을 전문으로 했으며, 2012년 퀸즈 카운슬에 임명되었다.[8]2013년에는 빅토리아주 변호사 협회 회장을 맡았고, 2017년에는 호주 변호사 협회 회장을 맡았다.[7]
2017년 10월 13일 알스테르그렌이 존 파스코(호주 가정법원 대법원장)를 대신해 호주 연방 순회법원 부장판사로 임명됐다.알스테르그렌은 호주 가정법원 판사로서 겸임 위임장을 주었다.[9]
파스코가 1년 후 가정법원에서 법정 정년에 이르자 알스테르그렌은 그의 후임으로 2018년 12월 10일부터 가정법원 대법원장으로 임명되었다.그는 두 법원을 병합하려는 정부 계획 중 연방 순회 법원장직을 유지했다.[10]로버트 맥클렐런드 법무차관이 동시에 임명됐다.[7]
봅슬레이 경력
알스테르그렌은 2002년 호주 봅슬레이 팀의 주장이었다.[11]그의 팀은 2002년 동계 올림픽을 위한 국제 올림픽 위원회 예선 기준을 충족시켰지만, 호주 올림픽 위원회는 더 높은 기준을 사용했고 경쟁하기 위해 그들을 보내지 않았다.알스테르그렌은 "우리도 현재 솔트레이크시티에 있는 팀의 절반을 이겼지만 안타깝게도 AOC의 높은 수준을 충족시킬 수 없었다"고 말했다.[12]
