Widgee는 오스트레일리아 퀸즐랜드 주 질피 지역에 있는 시골 지역이다.[2]2016년 인구조사에서 위지는 794명의 인구를 가지고 있었다.[1]

역사

그 이름은 듣거나 듣거나 하는 뜻의 원주민 단어인 Witche Witchee에서 유래된 것으로 여겨진다.[3]

1887년, 4만 3천 에이커(1만 7천 ha)의 땅이 Widgee Widgee 목회지에서 재개되었다.이 토지는 1887년 4월 17일 소규모 농장 설립을 위한 선정을 위해 제공되었다.[4]

Widgee 임시 학교는 1892년 7월 11일에 개교했다.1909년 1월 1일 뷔지 주립학교가 되었다.[5]

1912년 8월 10일, 퀸즐랜드 정부는 Gympie에 있는 토지 사무소에서 Widgee Repurcheded Estate에 있는 48개의 농지를 선정할 것을 제안했다.면적은 160~758에이커(65~307ha)로, 총 20,266에이커(8,201ha)에 이른다.17개의 블록이 Widgee Mountain 북서쪽 Waroonga Creek 주변에 위치해 있었다(26°14′34″S 152°2).2′23″E / 26.2428°S 152.3731°E / -26.2428; 152.3731(Widgee Mountain); 31개 블록이 Widgee Creek 및 Little Widgee Creek 주변에 남쪽으로 위치하였다.이 블록들은 연평균 40인치(1,000 mm)의 강우량을 가진 낙농 및 일반 농업에 적합한 것으로 설명되었다.[6][7]

2011년 인구조사에서 Widgee의 인구는 788명이었다.[8]

뷔지 주립학교(Widgee State School)는 질피 울루가 2156번지(Gympie-Woologa Road 26°12′14″S 152°2)의 소년소학교(Prep-6)이다.6′35″E / 26.2038°S 152.4431°E / -26.2038; 152.4431(Widgee State School)[10][11]2017년 이 학교에는 교사 4명(정규직 3명)과 비교직 6명(정규직 3명)으로 52명이 등록했다.[12]

Widgee에는 중등학교가 없다; 가장 가까운 학교는 Gympie에 있는 James Nash State 고등학교이다.[13]
