Whitmoor Common은 Surrey의 길드포드 북쪽 외곽에 있는 166헥타르(410에이커)의 생물학적 지역이다.[1][2]서리 카운티 의회가 소유하고 서리 야생동물 신탁이 관리하고 [4][5]있는 템즈 분지 히스 특별 보호구역과[3] 184.9헥타르(457에이커) 휘트무어와 릭포드 커먼즈 지역 자연 보호구역의 일부다.[6]

런던 분지의 히스 위에 있는 이 지역은 다양한 히스랜드 서식지와 삼림 지대, 초원, 고요, 그리고 흐르는 물이 있는 지역을 가지고 있다.히스에는 전국적으로 희귀한 거미인 옥시오페스 헤테로프탈무스와 딱정벌레 하이퍼스파이스 가성소푸스툴라타가 있으며, 몇몇 조류 종의 국가적으로 중요한 개체군이 있다.[7]

그 사이트는 일반인에게 개방되어 있다.

역사

그 흔한 화재는 2020년[8] 8월 12일, 2019년[9] 4월 22일, 2018년 6월 21일 등 많은 화재가 발생했다.[10]
