U Lacertae는 Lacerta 별자리에 있는 분광형 이진성이다.
라케르타 별자리에도 불구하고 우 라케르타에는 세페우스 OB1 협회의 일원으로 여겨진다.[9]오픈 클러스터 ASCC 123의 멤버로 등재되었다.[10]
U Lacertae는 붉은색 초거성과 작은 뜨거운 동반자로 구성된 VV Cephei 이진법이다.동반자는 스펙트럼의 높은 흥분 성분과 방사상 속도 변화로부터 확인되었으나 궤도는 알 수 없다.[11]
U Lacertae는 반정형 변수로 분류되는 변수별이다.[3]주기는 불확실하지만 주기는 150일, 긴 2차 기간은 550~690일이라는 제안이 나왔다.[13]히파르코스 위성사진측량 연구에서는 0.77의 진폭을 발견했으며 주기성은 발견되지 않았다.[14]가변 별의 일반 카탈로그에는 2.7폭의 진폭이 나열되어 있다.[3]
매우 발광하는 시원한 별들의 확장된 대기에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 U Lacertae 주변에서 물 마스가 검출되었다.[15]
