사조노프-팔레올로고스 협정은 1916년 4월 26일 러시아 외무장관 세르게이 사조노프가 모리스 팔레올로고스 러시아 주재 프랑스 대사에게 보낸 서간 아르메니아와 영불 사이크스-피코 협정에 관한 서신입니다. 서부 아르메니아에 대한 러시아의 영향력에 대한 합의는 사이크스-피코 협정에 대한 러시아의 동의에 대한 대가로 이루어졌습니다.[1][2] 이 협정은 런던 조약 1주년에 이루어졌습니다.[3]
러시아는 에르주룸, 트레비존드, 비틀리스, 반의 빌라예트를 할당받았으며,[3] 그 중 많은 부분이 당시 러시아의 점령 하에 있었습니다.[3]

Accordingly, on April 26, 1916 the first anniversary of the Treaty of London with Italy France and Russia signed the secret Sazonov-Paleologue Treaty concerning their respective territorial rights in Asiatic Turkey. Russia was awarded full sovereignty over the vilayets of Trebizond, Erzerum, Bitlis, and Van a vast area of 60,000 square miles (about one and one-fifth times the size of the State of New York), containing valuable mineral and petroleum resources. This handsome prize put Russia well on the road to Constantinople and in a fair way to turn the Black Sea into a Russian lake. And at the moment the treaty was signed the armies of the Grand Duke Nicholas were actually overrunning the territory which Russia had staked out for herself
