이 지방 자치 단체는 2002년 10월 28일자 무슬림 민다나오 자치법 166호에 따라 만들어졌으며 2004년 9월 4일 국민투표를 통해 비준되었습니다.[5][6]그것은 술탄사 바롱기스 마을에서 조각한 것입니다.

이전에 사파칸으로 알려졌던 라자 부아얀은 1875년 다투 루멘다와 다투 우토의 통치 기간 동안 부아얀의 수도로서 두각을 나타냈습니다.1899년 다투알리와 다투피앙이 각각 통치하고 있던 티눈쿠프 술탄국과 바카트의 권력 소재지이기도 했습니다
