원자력 반대 국민운동

People's Movement Against Nuclear Energy

원자력 반대 국민운동은 S. P. 우다야쿠마르가 설립한 인도 타밀나두의 반핵 세력 단체다. 2011년 9월 이후 이 단체의 목표는 쿠단쿨람 원전 부지를 폐쇄하고 크게 훼손되지 않은 해안 경관을 보존하는 것은 물론 지역민들에게 원자력 발전에 대한 교육을 하는 것이다.[1][2]

2012년 9월 10일 약 1,000명의 반핵 시위자들이 공장을 향해 행진을 시도했다. 경찰은 최루탄으로 대응했다.[3][4]

운동가 우다야쿠마란은 타밀 나두 정부에 2021년 9월 20일 쿠단쿨람 시위대에 대한 모든 사건 철회를 촉구하고 있다. 현재까지 회수된 건수는 89건 중 26건에 불과하지만 아직 63건이 남아 있다.
