올드 노아룽가(Old Noarlunga, 구 노아룽가)는 오스트레일리아 사우스 오스트레일리아 주(South Australia)의 교외 지역으로, 주 수도 애들레이드에서 남쪽으로 약 30km(19mi) 떨어져 있다.원래 1840년경에 정착한 이 마을은 교외를 잠식했음에도 불구하고 마을 분위기를 유지하고 있다.
어원
현대의 호주 언어학자들은 '노아룽가'라는 이름이 카우르나 누를로(코너/커브/벤드) + 은가(장소)에서 유래되었다고 믿고 있다.[6]
역사
정착 초기에는 밀 농사를 위해 주변이 개간되었고, 1843년 온카파링가 강 하류에서 바지선을 통해 노아룽가 항으로 생산물을 운반하는 데 사용되는 화로와 함께 마을에 밀가루 제분소가 건설되었다.마을에는 아직도 온카파링가를 가로지르는 돌다리가 있어 해안 더 아래로 이동하기 위한 중심지가 되고 있다.
1846년 노아룽가 백사단이 선포되어 스투트 강에서 온카파링가까지 연안을 따라 확장되었으나, 온카파링가의 말굽을 뜻하는 고유어 누를로(곡선)에서 따왔다.
1850년 남호주 회사는 온카파링가 강 '호르세회'에 '노오룽가 타운쉽'을 설치하였다. 1856년 온카파링가 양쪽에 있는 주민을 따라 노라룽가 구의회가 결성되었다.새 협의회는 북쪽 뱅크의 모페트 베일 구와 남쪽 뱅크의 윌룽가 구의회 양쪽의 일부를 분리하여 구성되었다.
1860년대까지 그 마을에는 우체국, 의회 회의실, 두 개의 교회, 공공 파운드, 두 개의 호텔, 방앗간, 양조장, 그리고 벽돌공장이 있었다.[7]
노아룽가는 자전거 동호회가 방문하여 잘 알려진 스포츠 장소가 되었고, 20세기 내내 이 마을은 이 지역의 해변으로 가는 길에 관광객들에게 인기 있는 정류장이 되었다.[7]
1972년 메인 사우스 로드가 마을을 우회하는 것을 보고 1978년 의회의 결의로 올드 노아룽가가 되었다.당시 많은 지역 주민들은 읍면동 이름 변경에 찬성하지 않았다.[citation needed]

Cockburn (1990:160) and Manning (1986:152) assert that Noarlunga means 'fishing place' while Praite and Tolley (1970:129) say that it means 'the place with a hill'. Praite and Tolley are obviously drawing on the fact that Ramindjeri has ngurle 'hill' and this, combined with the Kaurna suffix -ngga, results in Noarlunga. However, it is far more likely that Noarlunga derives from Kaurna nurlo 'curvature; corner' and referred to Horseshoe Bend, on the Onkaparinga River, where the town was first established. Certainly, as we observed earlier, T&S recognised this.
