존 B. 스콧은 미국의 정치인이자 변호사다.공화당 소속인 그는 2021년 10월 21일 그렉 애벗 주지사가 임명한 뒤 제114대 텍사스주 국무장관을 지내며 조 에스파자 대행을 이어오고 있다.[1][2][3]
스콧은 국무장관으로 재직하기 전, 그렉 애벗 당시 텍사스 검찰총장 휘하의 민사소송부 부장관을 지냈다.[4]스콧은 또한 텍사스 보건 및 휴먼 서비스 위원회의 최고 운영 책임자였다.[5][6]스콧 의원은 2020년 대선의 여파로 펜실베이니아주에서 치러진 선거결과 관련 소송에서 도널드 트럼프 대통령을 잠시 대리했다.[7]
그는 텍사스 대학교 오스틴에서 사우스 텍사스 법대 휴스턴에서 J.D. 학위를 취득했다.[6]
