존 아데어(저자)

John Adair (author)

존 에릭 아데어(John Eric[1] Adair, 1934년 5월 18일 출생)는 영국의 학자로서 리더십 이론가로서 경영, 군사 및 기타 리더십에 관한 40여 권의 책(18개 언어로 번역)을 저술한 사람이다.[2]

인생

아데어는 루턴에서 태어나 세인트 폴스쿨에서 교육을 받은 뒤 1953년부터 1955년까지 스코틀랜드 근위대 제2소위로 복무했다. 유별나게 아랍 군단의[3] 베두인 연대 부관장을 지냈고, 전선에서 예루살렘 수비대를 잠시 지휘했다.[2] 그는 또한 헐 노티컬 칼리지 (1955년에 북극 트롤러 데크핸드 자격을 취득한 곳)와 케임브리지 트리니티 홀에서 공부하여 1959년에 예술 학사 학위를 취득했다. 이후 1966년 런던 킹스 칼리지에서 박사학위를, 1971년 옥스퍼드 주 예수 칼리지에서 BLITT 학위를 취득했다. 그는 1966년에 왕립역사학회의 회원이 되었다. 1961년부터 1967년까지 샌드허스트 왕립무관학교 수석강사로 일한 뒤 이후 산업학회에서 근무하다가 1979년 설리대 지도학 교수가 되면서 1984년까지 재직했다. 1990년부터 2000년까지 엑세터 대학의 초빙 교수였다. 그는 현재 윈저 리더십 트러스트의 명예회원으로서 정기적으로 리더십 개발 프로그램에 대해 연설하고 있다. 2006년부터 푸둥(浦東)에 있는 중국 행정지도 아카데미에서 리더십 명예교수로 재직하고 있다.[4] 2009년에 그는 토리노에 있는 유엔 시스템 스탭 칼리지의 리더십 연구 학장으로 임명되었다.[5] 그는 Adair International의 사장이다.
