패로닉스 코퍼레이션은 캐나다 밴쿠버, 브리티시 컬럼비아, 미국 캘리포니아, 싱가포르, 영국 브라크넬에 사무실을 두고 있는 개인 소유의 소프트웨어 회사다.패로닉스는 다중 사용자 IT 환경을 위한 컴퓨터 소프트웨어를 개발한다.

익스포닉스 제품은 주로 교육기관, 도서관, 의료시설, 정부기관 등에서 사용된다.

역사

패로닉스는 1993년 이 회사의 현 최고경영자(CEO)인 패리드 알리가 설립한 회사로 1996년 법인화됐다.패러닉스는 1999년 재부팅 때마다 컴퓨터를 원래 구성으로 즉시 복원하는 커널 레벨 소프트웨어 유틸리티인 딥 프리즈의 등장으로 컴퓨터 하드웨어를 처음 판매하고 소프트웨어로 전환했다.[2]

Deep Freeze는 그 이후로 K-12 교육에 강한 입지를 굳혔으며 현재는 패러닉스 "레이어드 시큐리티" 제품군의 일부분이다.

딥 프리즈

1999년에 출시된 소프트웨어 유틸리티로, 시스템이 재시작될 때마다 시스템을 원래 구성으로 복원한다.Deep Freeze는 Windows(독립 실행형 컴퓨터용 표준)용과 Mac OS X용 버전(Novell의 SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop(SLED)용 버전은 2010년에 중단됨)으로 제공된다.Deep Freeze for Windows는 Enterprise Console이나 Faronics Core를 통해 원격으로 관리할 수 있다.Deep Freeze Mac은 Apple Remote Desktop을 통해 여러 컴퓨터 설정에서 중앙 집중식으로 관리할 수 있다.

패러닉스 안티바이러스

2010년 출시된 윈도용 안티바이러스 소프트웨어는 안티바이러스, 안티스파이웨어, 안티루트키트 기술을 결합한 것이다.패러닉스 안티바이러스는 딥 동결(딮 프리즈)과 연동해 딥 동결(딮 프리즈)보호 기능을 끄지 않고도 프로그램 업데이트를 수행할 수 있다.패로닉스 안티바이러스는 패로닉스 코어를 통해 원격으로 관리된다.

파워 세이브

패러닉스 코어

2008년에 출시된 관리 툴은 특정 Faronics 소프트웨어 제품의 컴퓨터 워크스테이션 배치를 중앙에서 관리하는 툴이다.파라닉스코어는 MMC3(Microsoft Management Console) 기술을 활용해 사용자 정의 컴퓨터 워크스테이션 그룹을 만들고 소프트웨어 관련 작업을 스케줄링하며 보고서를 만들 수 있다.패로닉스 코어는 패로닉스 안티바이러스, 엔터프라이즈 버전의 WINSelector, Anti-Execable 및 System Profiler, Windows 버전의 Deep Freeze 및 Power Save를 관리한다.Power Save Mac이 설치된 시스템은 보고 목적으로 Faronics Core에서 모니터링할 수 있다.
