크리스탈 리포트는 SAP가 중소기업에 판매하는 비즈니스 인텔리전스 애플리케이션이다.[1]
역사
테리 커닝햄과 커닝햄 그룹은 1984년에 이 소프트웨어를 만들었다.[2] Crystal Services Inc.[4]는 자신들이 개발한 애드온 제품에 적합한 상업용 보고서 작성자를 찾을 수 없을 때 제품(원래 "Quik Reports"로 불리며, DOS용 ACPAC Plus(SAGE가 인수한 후기)를[3] 판매했다. 크리스탈 서비스는 버전 1.0~3.0을 생산한 뒤 1994년 씨게이트테크놀로지에 인수됐다.[5] 크리스탈 서비스는 전체론적 시스템과 결합하여 씨게이트 소프트웨어의 정보 관리 그룹을 형성하였으며, 이후 크리스탈 결정으로 브랜드가 변경되어 버전 4.0부터 9.0까지를 제작하였다. Crystal Decisions는 2003년 12월에 BusinessObjects에 인수되어 버전 10, 11 (XI) 및 버전 12 (2008)를 생산하였다.
SAP는 2007년 10월 8일 BusinessObjects를 인수했으며, 2011년 5월 3일 Crystal Reports 2011(버전 14)을 발표했다. 공개된 최신 버전은 2020년 6월 13일의 크리스탈 리포트 2020(14.3.x)이다.
Crystal Reports의 독점 파일 형식의 파일 확장자는 .rpt이다. 설계 파일은 데이터 없이 저장하거나 나중에 보거나 공유할 수 있는 데이터와 함께 저장할 수 있다. Crystal Reports 2011(버전 14.0) 출시와 함께 도입된 읽기 전용 .rptr 파일 확장자 옵션은 보기가 가능하지만 내보낸 후에는 수정할 수 없다.[6]
Microsoft Visual Studio 버전 2003에서 2008년까지와 Borland Delphi를 포함한 몇 가지 다른 애플리케이션은 한때 범용 보고 도구로서 Crystal Reports의 OEM 버전을 번들로 제공했다.[7] 마이크로소프트는 이러한 관행을 중단하고 나중에 자체 경쟁 보고 툴인 SQL 서버 보고 서비스(SSRS)를 출시했다.[8][verification needed]
