역사

롱아일랜드 유대인 병원의 소아과들은 1956년 LIJ의 시설에 미숙아를 치료할 새로운 보육원이 들어서면서 롱아일랜드의 가족들에게 신생아 진료를 제공했던 시기로 거슬러 올라간다.20년 동안 새로운 아동병원을 위해 로비를 벌인 끝에 1983년 11월 슈나이더 아동병원이라는 이름으로 개원했다.[11][12]

1989년 알버트 아인슈타인 의과대학(AECOM) 부속병원이 설립되었다.2008년 주커 의과대학이 완공되자 병원은 AECOM과의 제휴를 종료했다.2010년, 노스 쇼어-LIJ 수석 부사장인 키스 톰슨은 슈나이더 가족이 이스라엘의 슈나이더 아동 의료 센터에 더 많은 노력을 집중할 수 있도록 그들의 이름을 병원에서 삭제해 줄 것을 요청했다고 발표했다.[17][18]

2010년, 라이온 킹의 전 스타 섀넌 타바레스가 병원에서 백혈병으로 사망했다.[22]

이 돈은 소아과 전담 수술실 6개를 갖춘 25개 병상과 수술실, 24개 병상 PICU를 새로 증축해 병원에 소아과를 새로 짓는 데 쓰였다.[23]2013년에 새로 추가되었다.[24][25]
