- 2012년 15구 상원의원 버니 맥가하가 퇴임하고 의석을 비웠을 때, 거들러는 2012년 5월 22일 공화당 6자 예비선거에서 5,775표(49.6%)[3]로 승리했고, 2012년 11월 6일 총선에서는 36,[4]946표로 무당파였다.
