이전에 Ceridian이었던 Dayforce는 CDC(Control Data Corporation)의 후손입니다.[3] Ceridian Corporation은 1957년에 설립된 컴퓨터 서비스 및 제조 회사인 CDC의 구조조정으로 인해 1992년에 정보 서비스 회사로 설립되었습니다.[4][5] 컴퓨터 제품 사업은 CDS(Control Data Systems)로 분사되어 Control Data라는 이름을 갖게 되었습니다.

2001년 3월, Ceridian은 두 개의 독립적인 회사로 분할되었고, "구"인 Ceridian Corporation은 Arbitron으로 이름을 바꾸고 나머지 회사(인사 서비스 및 Comdata 사업으로 구성됨)는 Ceridian 이름을 가져갔습니다.[6]
