세실 패럿
Cecil Parrott세실 커트버트 파로트 KCMG OBE 경(1909년 1월 29일 ~ 1984년 6월 23일)은 영국의 외교관, 번역가, 작가, 학자였다.
케임브리지의 피터하우스에서 공부한 후, 그는 선생님이 되었다.그는 1939년에 외무부에 입사했다.그의 외교 경력은 1960년부터 1966년까지 그가 영국 대사였던 프라하에 부임하면서 절정에 달했다.외무부에서 은퇴하면서 초대 러시아·소련학 교수, 후에 중남동유럽학 교수, 랭카스터 대학 코메니우스 센터장이 되었다.
파롯은 자로슬라프 하셰크의 '좋은 병사' 슈베섹을 번역한 것으로 가장 잘 알려져 있다.그는 또한 하셰크의 단편 중 몇 편인 붉은 콤미사르를 번역했다.[1]하셰크의 단편 소설에 대한 연구도 썼다.
그는 두 권의 자전적 책인 줄타기와[3] 뱀과 나이팅게일을 썼으며,[4] 하셰크의 전기인 배드 보헤미안도 썼다.[5][6]
