College Language Association

College Language Association(CLA)은 영어와 외국어를 [1]가르치는 흑인 학자와 교육자로 구성된 전문 협회입니다.1937년에 설립된 이 단체는 "회원들과 그들이 [2]대표하는 대학 공동체의 학문적, 학문적, 직업적 이익을 위해 봉사한다."

역사

LeMoyne College의 영어 교수인 Hugh Gloster는 학생들의 낮은 영어 능력율에 대해 Morehouse College의 Gladstone Lewis Chandler와 서신을 주고받았다.주로 흑인 학교의 다른 교사들과 함께,[3][4] 그들은 1937년에 흑인 대학의 영어 교사 협회를 결성했습니다.1941년, 그 단체는 그들의 범위를 넓히고 그들의 이름을 흑인 대학 언어 교사 협회(ATLNC)로 바꿨다.1949년 College Language Association(CLA)[5]으로 다시 이름이 변경되었습니다.
