흑암사막 화산지대
Black Rock Desert volcanic field유타주 밀라드 카운티의 블랙록 사막 화산지대는 파반트 부테, 신더스, 테네너클 힐 등 그레이트 분지의 여러 화산지형이 모여 있는 곳이다.[1]이 필드의 아이스 스프링스 행사는 유타주의 가장 최근의 화산 활동인 용암 흐름(1140–1440 AD)[2]에 이은 폭발로 파반트 부트의 오래된 흐름이 겹쳐졌다.[1]
플리스토세-홀로세 분야는 약 270만년 동안 활발한 지질학적 영역이었다.지난 150만년 동안, 지역 화산활동은 24개의 분출구에서 라임산 원뿔과 기저산 원뿔을 모두 만들어냈고, 그 분출구는 용암이 지질학적 결함을 통해 빠져나간다.[3]
