Banking in Sierra Leone시에라리온의 은행업무는 중앙은행, 시에라리온은행, 7개 시중은행, 6개 커뮤니티은행으로 구성되어 있다.[1]
은행업종
남북전쟁으로 그 나라의 상업 은행의 많은 지점들이 파괴되었고 2005년 현재 34개의 상업 은행 지점들이 있는데, 이것은 주요 도시들에서 대부분이다.[2] 대출을 받기 위한 절차는 매우 복잡하고 GDP 대비 민간 신용 비율이 4%를 조금 넘는 비교적 낮은 것으로 평가되었다.[3]
커뮤니티 뱅크스
지역은행은 상업은행에 접근할 수 없는 지역사회에 확장된 금융서비스의 역할을 한다. 그들은 또한 정부의 소액금융 프로그램을 지원하고 지역사회에 힘을 실어줌으로써 시에라리온 내의 발전을 돕도록 설계되었다.[2]
