주의 깊은 사용자 인터페이스(AUI)는 사용자의 주의를 관리하는 사용자 인터페이스다.예를 들어, AUI는 알림을 관리하고,[1] 사용자의 인터럽트 시기, 경고의 종류 및 사용자에게 표시되는 메시지의 세부사항 수준을 결정할 수 있다.특히 관련 정보만 생성함으로써 주의 깊은 사용자 인터페이스를 사용하여 상호 작용의 효과를 높이는 방식으로 정보를 표시할 수 있다.[2]

Roel Pestgaal에 따르면 주의 깊은 사용자 인터페이스에는 네 가지 주요 유형이 있다.[3][4]
