Alan Giles

Alan James Giles[1] OBE는 영국의 사업가로 현재 경쟁 및 시장 당국의 비상임이사국이다. 그는 또한 렌토킬 이니셜 plc의 비상임이사 겸 OFT의 감사 및 리스크 보상 위원회 위원이기도 하다.[2]

경력

1999년 3월부터 2006년 9월까지 그는 HMV 그룹의 최고 경영자로 1998년에 합류한 레코드 가게 HMV의 소유주였다.[3][4]

HMV 그룹도 2006년에 또 다른 책 체인 Ottakars를 사들인 영국 서점 체인 Waterstone을 소유하고 있었다.[4][5] HMV와 Waterstone은 2005-2006 회계연도에 판매 감소를 겪었다. Giles는 음악 다운로드, 슈퍼마켓 경쟁 등 인터넷이 HMV의 판매 감소에 기여했다고 말했다.[6]

HMV를 떠난 후, 그는 활동적인 라이프스타일 소매업체인 Fat Face의 회장이 되었다.[7]
