아클레야는 oomycete(물 곰팡이)의 속이다.이 속에는 아슐리아노블루아와 아슐리아 클렙시아를 포함한 여러 가지 식물 병원균이 포함되어 있다.다른 많은 미생물과 달리 세포확장은 삼투압의 변화보다는 세포벽 강도의 변화에 의해 좌우된다.[1]아슐리아 하이포지나의 게놈은 서열화되어 있으며, 예를 들어 NCBI 웹사이트(National Center for Biology Information)에서 접속할 수 있다.[2]
이 속은 1823년 크리스티안 고트프리트 다니엘 네스 폰 에센벡에 의해 처음 설명되었다.[3][4]그 종류는 아슐랴 증식종이다.[3]
