역사

The Tennessee Amphitheater was built for 1982 World's Fair[1] and was designed by structural engineer Horst Berger, part of McCarty Bullock and Holsaple, architects of Knoxville (led by architect Bruce McCarty, the Master Architect of the 1982 World's Fair), and Geiger Berger, structural engineers of New York City. 베르거는 인장 건축을 한 작품으로 유명했고, 원형극장의 건축 디자인은 극장 위를 맴도는 인장 천막으로 유명하다.[2][3] 원형극장은 클래식 음악,[4] 컨트리 음악(예:[5] The Aldridge Sisters), 블루스(예: Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown),[6] 록 밴드(예: Weezer[7] and Flavided Panis) 등 다양한 음악회를 주최했다.[8] 1400석 규모의 이 원형극장은 선스피어와 함께 1982년 세계박람회(World's Fair)에서 유일하게 남아있는 두 개의 구조물 중 하나이다.[9]
