표면 웹

Surface web

표면 웹(Visible Web, Indexed Web, Indexable Web 또는 Lightnet이라고도 함)[1]은 월드 와이드 웹의 일부로서 일반 대중이 쉽게 이용할 수 있고 표준 웹 검색 엔진을 사용하여 검색할 수 있다. 그것은 웹 검색 엔진에 의해 색인화되지 않은 웹의 부분인 딥 웹과 반대다.[2] Surface Web은 인터넷에 있는 정보의 10%로만 구성된다.[3] Surface Web은 어떤 검색 엔진으로도 접근할 수 있는 서버의 공용 웹 페이지 모음으로 만들어진다.[4]

한 소식통에 따르면 2015년 6월 14일 현재 구글의 '표면 웹 지수'에는 약 148억 페이지가 수록돼 있다.[5]
