프로스퍼는 미국 오리건 주 쿠스 카운티에 있는 비법인 공동체다.[1]코킬레 강 옆 반돈에서 북서쪽으로 5km 정도 떨어져 있다.[2]그 자리에는 더 이상 마을이 없다.[3]
코킬 강의 첫 통조림은 1882년 D에 의해 시작되었다.H. Getchell은 프로스퍼로 알려지게 되었다.[4]프로스퍼는 1892년 여름 그곳에 제재소와 조선소를 건설한 아담 페르슈바커에 의해 설립되었다.[4][5]에밀 후켄도르프 조선소가 곧 설립되었다.[6]프로스퍼는 1893년부터 1928년까지 우체국을 가지고 있었다; 페르스베이커는 최초의 우체국장이었다.[7]그 이름은 그 지역이 번영하기를 바라는 마음에서 선택되었을 것이다.[7]1915년 프로스퍼의 인구는 500명이었으며, 두 개의 연어 통조림과 두 개의 판자와 톱방앗간이 있었다.[3]여객선은 하루에 세 번 반돈과 코킬로 이동했다.[3]
