압력NET는 기압 데이터를 위한 군중 소싱 보고 네트워크였다.

기압센서(기압계)와 GPS 센서를 탑재한 휴대전화에 많은 사용자가 설치하도록 하는 방식으로 작동했다. 일단 GPS 데이터에서 위치가 알려지면 지구상의 그 위치에 대한 기압으로 서버에 다시 메시지를 보낼 수 있었다. 애플리케이션을 실행하는 충분한 사용자 덕분에 유용한 글로벌 압력 데이터를 생성할 수 있었다. 안드로이드폰에서 실행 중인 오픈소스 소프트웨어를 이용해 세계 각지에서 데이터를 수집했다. 그 자료는 공공 웹사이트에서 이용할 수 있었다.[3][4][5][6] [7]

2014년 9월 기압계(iPhone 6)가 탑재된 첫 사과 기기가 출시될 예정이라는 발표와 함께 2015년부터 해당 플랫폼 더 선샤인 앱 베타 테스트 앱 에디션에 대한 작업이 시작됐다. [9] [10]

안드로이드 앱 웹사이트는 여전히 존재하며, 앱 소스 코드는 github에서 여전히 이용할 수 있지만[11][12], 2016년 1월 현재 안드로이드 앱에 대한 지원은 없으며, iOS 앱은 PressureNet 앱처럼 무료 오픈 소스 소프트웨어가 아니다. [13] 압력넷은 2016년 초 선샤인이 인수했다. [14]
