갈색 비둘기는 비둘기과에 속하는 파피트레론 속이다.그들의 일반적인 이름은 그들의 전체적인 갈색 색을 가리킨다.그들은 필리핀의 토착민이다.모든 갈색 비둘기들은 나무를 심는 사람들이지만, 다른 종들은 다른 종류의 나무로 된 서식지를 차지하고 있다; 어떤 종들은 오래된 숲에 더 많이 제한되어 있는 반면, 다른 종들은 이차적인 숲과 다른 삼림지를 이용한다.그들의 주요 식단은 과일이다.그들은 버릇이 고독한 경향이 있고 이해하기 어려울 수 있다.이 종의 몇몇 종들은 그들의 얼굴에 눈에 띄는 흑백 줄무늬와 무지개빛 목 깃털을 가지고 있다.수컷과 암컷은 닮았다.
분류학
파프리트레론 속은 1854년 프랑스의 자연주의자 찰스 루시엔 보나파르트에 의해 흰귀의 갈색 비둘기(Phapitreron leucotis)를 위해 도입되었다.[1][2]파피트레론이라는 속명은 영국의 자연학자 프라이도 존 셀비가 1835년 청동날개비둘기를 위해 도입한 속명 팍스와 고대 그리스 트뤼론(pigeon)[3]을 합친 것이다.
속은 네 가지 종을 포함한다.[4]
- 흰귀갈색비둘기(Phapitreron leucotis)
- 아메테스트 갈색 비둘기(Phapitreron amethistinus)
- 타위타위 갈색 비둘기(Phapitreron cinereiceps)
- 민다나오 갈색 비둘기(Phapitreron brunneiceps) – 타위타위 갈색 비둘기에서 갈라짐
일부 조류학자들은 위의 종들 중 두 가지를 나누었다.[5]
- 완충귀갈색 비둘기(Phapitreron nigroum) – 흰귀갈색 비둘기에서[6] 갈라짐
- 짧은꼬리갈색도브(Phapitreron brevirostris) – 흰꼬리갈색 비둘기에서[7] 갈라짐
- Cebu brown-dove (Phapitreron frontis) – 자수정 갈색 비둘기에서 분리, [8]런던 동물학회에[9] 의해 EDGE 종으로 등재
- 회색빛갈색도브(Phapitreron maculipectus) – 자수정갈색 비둘기에서[10] 갈라짐
