퍼딕스 드론은 [2][3][4]무인항공 감시에 사용되는 자율 마이크로 드론을 개발하는 것을 목표로 미 국방부 전략능력국이 진행하는 실험 프로젝트의 주요 주제이다.

기원.

서로 의사소통을 할 수 있는 지능형 마이크로 드론의 [5]아이디어는 2011년 매사추세츠 공과대학의 항공우주학부에서 공부하는 학생 그룹에 의해 개척되었다.이후 2013년 [6][7]국방부 전략능력국의 지시에 따라 군사용으로 개조됐다.

자율성

군사용 퍼딕스 무인기의 첫 운용시험은 2014년 9월 에드워즈 [9][10][11]공군기지 상공에서 공군시험학교가 실시했다.드론은 F-16 Fighting Falcon의 플레어 캐니스터에 배치돼 [12]저공에서 운용됐다.1년 후인 2015년 9월, 90개의 퍼딕스 임무가 알래스카 상공을 비행하여 해양 감시 능력을 [2]시험했다.
