Out Traveler는 사진 촬영과 LGBT 여행 주제의 취재를 결합한 Out and The Advisor 출판사의 게이와 레즈비언 여행 잡지다.[1]2003년부터 2008년까지 독립형 타이틀로 발행된 이 책은 이후 아웃 매거진의 부록으로 통합되어 더 이상 독립형 타이틀로서 구독이 불가능하다.[1]

뉴욕, 하와이, 파리, 사우스 플로리다와 같은 여행지를 위한 여러 개의 아웃 트래블러 가이드 여행 도서가 이 브랜드로 출판되었다.[2]출판사에 따르면 이들 가이드는 "게이 여행의 표준을 정립한 사려 깊고 변화무쌍한 여행 경험을 선보여 세련된 여행자들을 자극하기 위한 것"[3]이라고 한다.

역사

  • 2000년에 Gays와 레즈비언들을 위한 웹 포털인 PlanetOut Inc.의 PlanetOut.com에 Out & About LGBT 여행 뉴스레터가 인수되었다.[4][5]플래닛아웃 주식회사에 매각된 후, 이 소식지는 2004년까지 계속 발행되었는데, 그 때 'Thee Out Traveler' 잡지로 접혀 북미와 세계에 우호적인 스키 리조트를 홍보하고, 동성애 친화적인 도시와 관광지의 목록을 만들었다.[6][7][8][9][10]그것은 또한 매년 열리는 편집자 초이스 어워드를 이어가며 동성애 여행의 최적지와 최악의 여행지를 언급했다.[11][12][13]

아웃 트래블러 리더스 초이스 어워드

Out Traveler Reader's Choice Awards는 2004년에 LGBT 여행의 최고를 인정하는 방법으로 시작되었다.[16]이 시상식에서는 Favorite 국내 여행지, Favorite International Airline, Favorite Gay Resort Town, Favorite Hotel Collection 등의 주제를 다룬다.[17]

  • 아메리칸 항공은 2005년, 2007년, 2008년에[18] 최우수 항공사로 선정되었다.
  • 샌프란시스코 LGBT 프라이드 축하 & 퍼레이드는 2006년에[19] 가장 좋아하는 게이 이벤트로 선정되었다.
  • 키웨스트는 2006년[20] Favorite Gay Resort Town으로 선정되었다.
  • 포트 로더데일은 2007년[21] 최고의 게이 목적지를 위한 리더스 초이스로 선정되었다.
