Ntfsprogs는 Windows NT 운영 체제(버전 3.1 이후)가 하드 디스크 파티션에서 사용하는 NTFS 파일 시스템을 관리하기 위한 무료 Unix 유틸리티의 모음입니다.'ntfsprogs'는 리눅스 최초로 NTFS 파티션에 안정적인 쓰기 방식이었다.[1]
32비트 및 64비트 Windows에서 사용하는 모든 NTFS 버전이 지원되었다.ntfsprogs는 NTFS 파티션과 상호 작용하는 인기 있는 방법이었고 대부분의 Linux[2] 배포판과 Live CD에 포함되었다.Windows용으로 컴파일된 버전도 있다.
2011년 4월 12일 턱세라는 Ntfsprogs 프로젝트가 NTFS-3G로 통합되었다고 발표했다.[3]
