신문사협회는 런던에 본부를 둔 무역협회였다.

그것은 1908년에 허가받지 않은 군사 정보의 출판을 제한하는 법안을 반대했다.[1] 1912년 D-Notice 시스템의 선구자인 해군, 전쟁 사무소, 언론 위원회의 일원이었다. 국가안보를 위해 특정 이야기를 싣지 말아달라는 내용의 편지, 즉 전보는 당시 위원회 대표였던 어니스트 파크의 뒤를 이어 '파커'로 알려졌다.[2]

그것은 1928년에 잡지를 제작하자는 BBC의 제안에 반대했다.[3]
