경력 및 경험

오설리반은 더블린 출신으로 1981년 가르다 시오차나에 입단하였다.그녀는 가르다 시오차나의 대열을 통과하며 일했고 36년간 근무하면서 다양한 관리직과 지도자 직책을 맡았다.[5]

2000년에는 교육감으로 승진하여 전문인력 양성에 대한 책임을 지고 가르다 시오차나 대학에서 근무하였다.그녀는 또한 GNDU(Garda National Drugs Unit)에서 형사 감독관으로 일했다.2003년에는 교육감장으로 승진하여 가르다 기술국·인적관리국 형사부장을 지냈다.[6]

오설리반은 2007년 부위원장으로 승진해 서부 지역에서 근무했고, 그 뒤를 인적자원관리부가 이었다.[6]

2009년 6월에는 아일랜드의 국내 국가 안보와 정보 기능을 책임지는 범죄안보부(CSB) 담당 부위원장으로 임명되었다.이 역할에서 그녀는 특수 탐정 부대, 비상 대응 부대, 국가 감시 부대 같은 전문 국가 부대에 대한 책임을 지고 있었다.[6]

오설리반은 2014년 3월 25일 마틴 캘리난 사의 사임 후 임시로 가르다 커미셔너가 되었다.그녀는 2014년 11월 25일 프란체스 피츠제럴드 법무장관이 임명한 후 공식적으로 영구적으로 커미셔너의 역할을 맡았으며, 1922년 창설 이래 처음으로 커미셔너가 되었다.[8]

In late October 2017 the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) announced that Nóirín O’Sullivan had been nominated as the newly-created role of Director of Strategic Partnerships for Europe, to begin work later in 2017 and to be based in Ireland, the first time a member of the IACP's staff has been based outside the United States, asIACP의 목표는 "세계적 범위와 대표성을 더욱 확대"하는 것이다.[4]
