시국법전(Municode, Municode)은 미국의 지방 자치단체에 대한 법률문서의 가장 큰 코디네이터다.[1][2] 조지 랭포드가[3] 1951년 설립한 이 회사는 플로리다 탈라하시에 위치해 있다.[4]

2021년 현재 이 회사는 50개 주 4,200개 이상의 자치단체에 서비스를 제공하고 있다.[5]

역사

조지 랭포드는 1951년 3월 21일 무니코드 코드 코퍼드를 설립했다. 랭포드는 2차 세계대전에서 공병대에서 하사관으로 복무했다.[6] 전쟁이 끝난 후, 그는 버지니아 대학에서 법학 학위를 받았다. 그의 첫 직장은 법률 출판사였고, 뮤니코드를 설립했다. 그는 전권을 재인쇄하지 않고도 새로운 조례가 추가될 수 있도록 조례 코드를 느슨하게 만들겠다는 생각으로 회사를 설립했다.[3] 무니코드 코퍼레이션의 첫 의뢰인은 플로리다 탈라하시였다.[7]

2021년 8월 시빅플러스는 이 회사를 인수했다고 발표했다.[8]
