가시방패 개미 파리인 마이크로돈 루피크루스(Wiliston 1887)는 미국 동부와 캐나다 인접 지역에서 관찰되는 희귀한 매독파리 종이다.호버파리는 비행 중에 거의 움직이지 않을 수 있다.성충은 에너지를 주는 과즙과 단백질이 풍부한 꽃가루를 모두 얻는 꽃에서 흔히 발견되기 때문에 꽃파리로도 알려져 있다.유충은 라시우스 에일리너스 [1][2][3][4]둥지에서 발견되었다.
