멀린의 동굴은 영국 콘월 주 보스캐슬에서 남서쪽으로 5km(3.1mi) 떨어진 틴타겔 성 아래에 위치한 동굴이다.길이는 100m(330ft)로 동쪽 틴타겔 헤이븐에서 서쪽 틴타겔 섬까지 완전히 통과한다.[1][2]슬레이트 암석과 화산암 사이의 추력면을 따라 해양 침식으로 형성된 바다 동굴이다.[1]이 동굴은 만조 때는 물로 채워지지만, 모래 바닥이 있고 썰물 때는 탐험할 수 있다.[3]

테니슨은 어린 아서를 해안으로 데려오고 그를 안전한 곳으로 데려가는 멀린을 묘사하면서 멀린의 동굴을 왕의 아이딜로 유명하게 만들었다.[4]
