찰스 미어스 주립 공원은 미시간 주 오세아니아 카운티 펜트워터 마을에 있는 공공 휴양 지역이다. 주 공원은 미시간 호와 펜트워터 호수를 연결하는 수로의 북쪽 50 에이커(20 ha)에 걸쳐 있다.[4]

역사

미어스 주립공원은 1년 전 미시간 주립공원위원회가 창설된 이후 1920년에 설립된 13개 공원 중 하나이다.[5] 한때 목재 남작 찰스 미어스가 소유했던 공원 땅은 딸 캐리 미어스가 주(州)[6]에 기증했다. 이 공원은 원래 16에이커에 불과한 "호수 모래로 엄격히 구성돼 있다"[7]고 말했다. 1921년, 채점 과정에서 모래를 제자리에 고정시킨 초목이 방해를 받아 바람에 모래가 손실되어 이웃주민들의 성가신 일이 많았다. 인공적인 문제를 해결하기 위해, 5톤의 습지 건초를 "균일하게 분배하고 원반으로 고정시켰다. 또한 화장실과 벽난로도 건설되었다.[7]

활동 및 편의시설

이 공원은 낚시, 수영, 캠핑, 피크닉 외에도 올드 발디 사구(Old Baldy Sanddune)를 오르는 1.6km의 등산로를 제공한다.[4]
