리틀 커른 강은 캘리포니아주 남부 시에라 네바다주 세쿼이아 국립숲에 있는 케른강 상류의 24.4마일(39.3km) 길이의[2] 주요 지류다.아름다운 황금송어(Oncoryncus mykiss aguabonita)를 품고 있는 화산크릭, 황금송어크릭과 함께 세 개의 하천 중 하나이다.

유역 및 코스

리틀 컨 강은 툴레 카운티에서 약 133 평방 마일(340km2)의 황야를 배수한다.[2][1]

리틀 컨은 광물왕 근처의 이별의 틈 남쪽의 황금 송어 황무지에 있는 투우록 호수에서 시작한다.[4]남쪽으로 흘러 테이블 메도우와 번트 코랄 메도우를 지나 깊은 협곡으로 들어간 뒤 케른의 포크스에 있는 케른 강과 합류한다.[5]리틀 커른은 대서양 분단의 남서 경계를 대략 정의하고 있으며, 주 커른과의 결합(사거리의 동쪽으로 흐른다)은 범위의 최남단 끝을 나타낸다.[6]케른의 포크는 이사벨라 호수 상류 약 64km에 위치해 있다.[6][7]

생태학

남포크켄 강 상류지역에 황금송어 피난구역을 조성하기 위해 1960년대부터 대대적인 노력이 이루어졌다.세 개의 장벽(람쇼, 템플턴, 쉐퍼)을 쌓았고, 강에 피스케이트를 가해 이들 장벽 위나 사이에 있는 비원어류를 모두 죽였다.1969년부터 2000년까지 10개의 화학적 치료가 수행되었고, 성공 정도는 다양했다.[8][9]
