닥터 휴먼 레터즈
Humane Letters 박사학위(라틴어: Letterarum Humanarum Doctor; DHL; 또는 LHD)는 사회에 대한 인도주의적, 박애적 공헌을 통해 두각을 나타낸 사람들에게 수여하는 명예학위다.[1] DHL은 신학 박사나 법학 박사 학위와 마찬가지로 취득한 학문적 학위가 아니라 "명예로운 인과"("명예로운"을 수여한다. Humane Letters 학위를 수여하는 관행과 기준은 기관마다 다르지만, 전형적으로 대학 행사에서 기조 연설자로 활동하는 개인이나 기관과 연관된 개인에게 수여된다.[2] 이러한 융통성은 대학들이 독특한 변종인 Humane Letters 학위를 수여하는 결과를 낳았다. 예를 들어, Southampton College는 어린이 교육에 기여한 공로를 인정받아 Frogmit에게 명예 "양서편지 박사"를 수여했다.[3][4]
