조지프 윌리엄스 로비본드
Joseph Williams Lovibond조셉 윌리엄스 로비본드(Joseph Williams Lovibond, 1833년 11월 17일 ~ 1918년 4월 21일)는 영국 양조업자로, 자신의 맥주의 고품질을 보장하는 수단으로 세계 최초로 실용색도계를 개발했다. 그는 Degree Lovibond 스케일의 원조였다.
전기
10대 때 우연히 금광업으로 벌어들인 돈을 잃어버린 로비본드는 가족의 양조장으로 일하러 갔다. 그는 색조가 맥주의 품질을 평가하는 데 좋은 지수라는 것을 발견하고 정확한 색 측정 방법을 모색했다. 페인트, 고형물에 대한 실험이 실패한 후, 1880년 솔즈베리 대성당을 방문했을 때 그는 1885년 그가 도입한 컬러미터에 스테인드글라스를 사용할 수 있는 영감을 얻었다.[1]
비즈니스
1885년에 그는 Lovibond Comparator라고 불리는 그의 색측정기를 제조하기 위해 Tintometer Limited라는 회사를 설립했다.[2] 그 회사는 여전히 존재하고 여전히 Lovibond 비교기의 최신 버전을 생산한다.
