조너선 H. 터너(Turner, 1942년 9월 7일생)[1]는 리버사이드 캘리포니아 대학의 사회학 교수다.

전기

1968년 코넬 대학교에서 박사학위를 받은 후, 1969-1970년 학년 이후 그는 UCR에서 근무했다. UCR에서 교수 연구 강사로 재직해 왔으며, 이 직종에서는 태평양사회학협회장과 캘리포니아사회학협회장을 역임하였다. 그는 또한 미국 과학 선진화 협회의 펠로우이기도 하다.[2] 그는 전 세계적으로 널리 강의했으며, 영국 케임브리지대, 독일 브레멘대, 독일 빌레펠트대, 독일 산둥대, 중화인민공화국 난카이대 초빙교수를 역임했다.

감정사회학, 민족관계학, 사회제도학, 사회계층화, 생물사회학 등 여러 전문성을 갖고 있지만 그는 사회학의 일반 이론가로 알려져 있다.

터너는 공동저자인 얀 E와 함께 미국 사회학 협회가 수여하는 2008년 우수 최근 공헌상을 받았다. 그들의 저서 '감정의 사회학 핸드북'을 위한 책이다.[3]
