초년기

포츠는 네브래스카 주 세인트 폴에서 태어나 세인트 폴 고등학교를 졸업하고 덴버 여자 대학에서 공부했으며 네브라스카 웨슬리안 대학교를 졸업했다.[1][2][3][4]

경력

팟츠는 세인트 폴에서 기자로 일하다가 뉴욕으로 건너가 그곳에서 글을 계속 썼다.그녀의 이야기는 엘러리 퀸, 알프레드 히치콕의 미스터리 잡지, 그리고 여성의 날 등 다양한 잡지에 실렸다.[1][3]
