재슬린 다미자
Jasleen Dhamija재슬린 다미자(Jasleen Dhamia, 1933년 출생)는 인도의 노련한 섬유 예술사학자, 공예 전문가, 전직 유엔 직원이다.[2] 델리에 기반을 둔 그녀는 핸드룸과 수공예 산업, 특히 섬유와 의상의 역사에 대한 선구적인 연구로 가장 잘 알려져 있다.[3][4] 그녀는 미네소타 대학에서 살아있는 문화 전통의 교수로 남아있다.[5] 수년 동안, 섬유 부흥론자 및 학자로 활동하면서, 그녀는 인도의 신성한 직물(2014년)을 포함한 섬유에 관한 여러 권의 책을 저술했다.[3][6]
초기생활과 배경
다미자는 1940년 가족이 델리로 이주하기 전 노스웨스턴 프론티어 주 아보타바드에서 자랐고, 델리 시빌 라인의 카이버 패스 지역구에서 살았으며, 델리 대학의 미란다 하우스(Miranda House)를 졸업했다.[1][7]
경력
1954년 인도 정부에서 문화공예 부흥운동가 카말레이드비 챗토파디야와 함께 활동을 시작해 공예 부흥, 지역사회 발전, 여성 취업 등에 힘썼다.[8][9] 1960년대에, 그녀는 인도 수공예 위원회와 함께 일했고, 그 다음 그녀는 시골에서 장인과 직접 일하기 시작했으며, 이것은 전쟁으로 피폐해진 발칸 국가들의 여성들을 위한 자조 프로그램을 개발하기 위한 UN에서의 그녀의 작업으로 이어졌다.[2]
