조지 워싱턴 예비 고등학교(George Washington Preparation High School)는 캘리포니아 주 로스앤젤레스 카운티(Los Angeles County)의 웨스트몬트(Westmont) 구역에 있는 공립 4년제 고등학교다.1926년에 설립된 이 학교는 로스엔젤레스 주소를 가지고 있지만 로스앤젤레스의 도시 한계에 위치해 있지 않다.마스코트는 학교의 이름인 조지 워싱턴을 가리키는 장군이다.학교 색깔은 빨강과 파랑이다.이 학교는 아테네, 웨스트 아테네, 웨스트몬트를 포함한 사우스 로스앤젤레스 주변의 많은 지역과 비법인 지역에 서비스를 제공하고 있다.

역사

조지 워싱턴 예비 고등학교는 천천히 4년제 학교로 발전한 6년제 고등학교로 1927년에 설립되었다.첫 졸업반은 1928년 5명의 선배가 있었다.이 학교는 1933년 롱비치 지진으로 큰 피해를 입었고 학생들은 1~2년 동안 텐트를 치고 학교에 다녔다.1935년 워싱턴 고등학교는 11학년과 12학년 학생만을 입학시키기 시작했고, 1950년 이전에는 워싱턴 고등학교가 10학년부터 12학년까지 확대되었다.

LAUSD로 병합된 1961년까지 로스앤젤레스 시립 고등 학교 구역에 있었다.[2]

배경
