가우토프(Gawthorp)라고도 알려진 가우토프(Gawthorpe)는 허더즈필드(Huddersfield)에서 동쪽으로 약 4마일(6km) 떨어진 웨스트요크셔(West Yorkshire)의 커클레스(Kirklees) 지역에 있는 햄릿이다.[1]가장 가까운 주요 도로는 그 곳에서 남쪽으로 약 0.3마일(0.5km)을 지나는 A642이다.19세기에 가우토프는 요크셔의 웨스트 라이딩에 있는 커크히튼의 교구의 일부인 렙톤 마을의 마을이나[1] 햄릿으로[2] 다양하게 등재되었다.석탄은 19세기 중반경 가우토프에서 채굴되었다.[3]

가스코인 대법원장이 이곳에서 태어났다는 주장이 제기됐지만,[4] 그는 하루우드 하우스 인근의 버려진 가우토프 마을 출신이었다.[5]

근린 정착지

인근 정착촌으로는 허더즈필드 마을, 커크헤튼과 렙톤 마을, 염색공장과[6] 낙서공장이[7][8] 있던 가우토프 그린의 햄릿 등이 있다.
