더블로보틱스는 아이패드 기반의 텔레프레전스 로봇인 더블과 더블2를 생산하는 기술 스타트업이다.[1][2][3]세그웨이 PT와 닮은 더블의 가격은 2,499달러다.[4]
로봇은 베이스에 자이로스코프와 가속도계 센서를 사용하며 데스크탑, 태블릿, 스마트폰으로 제어할 수 있다.[5]
더블로보틱스는 Y 콤비네이터로부터 시드 펀딩을 받았다.존슨앤드존슨과 코카콜라 컴퍼니는 더블을 테스트하고 있으며 포춘지 선정 500대 기업 7곳이 사전 주문을 했다.예약 주문은 총 50만 달러가 넘는다.[1]고객 배달은 2013년 2월에 시작되었다.[6]
이 회사는 2017년 1월 현재 2013년부터 약 8000대의 로봇이 판매되고 있다고 주장하고 있다.[7]
2019년 8월 원격근무자와 원격학습자의 생산성을 높이기 위한 로봇 '더블3'를 출시했다.[8]
