지정(법)
Designation (law)(라틴어 designatio로부터) 지정은 현직의 후계자를 결정하는 과정이다. 예를 들어, 선거에서 이긴 후보는 그 후보가 선출된 공직의 지정된 소유자로, 그 후보가 취임할 때까지이다. 그러한 사람들이 일반적으로 갖고 있는 직함에는 "대통령 당선자"[1][2]와 "총리 지명자"가 포함된다.
