인디고 헤드라고도 알려진 클린턴빌은 미국 앨라배마 주 커피 카운티에 있는 비법인 공동체다.클린턴빌은 뉴브록턴에서 북동쪽으로 2.5마일(4.0km) 떨어진 앨라배마 주 51번 국도와 앨라배마 주 122번 국도의 분기점에 위치해 있다.

역사

그 공동체는 원래 인디고 헤드라고 불렸는데, 그 지역의 인디고 식물들 때문이다.이후 지역 클린턴 가문을 기리기 위해 클린턴빌로 이름이 바뀌었다.[2]1860년부터 1921년까지 클린턴빌이라는 이름으로 우체국이 운영되었다.[3]

클린턴빌 남여아카데미는 커피카운티에서 6학년을 넘어 처음으로 교편을 잡은 학교로 운영됐다.[4]앨라배마 주 의회는 1860년 1월 11일에 학교를 임대했고, 1873년 3월 28일 그 헌장을 폐지했다.[5]

앨라배마 33연대 보병대의 F사('코빙턴 앤 커피 그레이스'로 알려진)는 1862년 3월 대니얼 혼 대위가 클린턴빌에서 조직했다.[6]15연대 앨라배마 보병대의 일부도 클린턴빌 출신이다.[7]
