카슨 사막은 미국 네바다 주 처칠 카운티의 라혼탄 분지와 사막 계곡에 있는 사막으로 연평균 5인치(130mm)의 강수량을 받는다.[2] 사막은 인접한 산맥 사이의 낮은 계곡 지역(계곡 북쪽의 카슨 싱크 포함)이며,[3] 더 큰 분수령은 경계 범위의 내부 경사면을 포함한다.[4] 이 사막은 플리스토세 때 라혼탄 호수에 의해 침수되었고, 이 유역은 2005년 네바다의 보존 보안 프로그램의 일부가 되었다.[5]
