Burrito ProjectBurito Project

- ^ Project, Artwork by my friend Noah D, founder of Mission Burrito (1997-02-01), English: Mission Burrito Project (MBP) was a group of skaters and graffiti artists in San Francisco founded by Noah D, who organized to make free, organic, vegan burritos and feed them to the homeless once a week. Burrito-making parties were held at the secret headquarters now known as 17th & Capp. Burritos were carted around San Francisco in a cooler pushed on a skateboard. MBP held regular benefits parties/concerts at their headquarters, a warehouse space on 17th & Capp St. frequented by musicians, artists, skaters, and dancers. This flyer is from one of those benefit parties. 100% of proceeds were used to purchase ingredients to make burritos. A cassette tape of original music from the scene was eventually produced by the group, with 100% of proceeds from the cassette tape being used to purchase ingredients for burritos. Music from the MBP tape was used in an episode of NPR's This American Life with Ira Glass on April 25, 1998., retrieved 2019-04-06
