앤드루 J. 쇼트랜드는 크랜필드 대학교의 고고학자로 2016년부터 재직해 온 직책인 크랜필드 법의학연구소(CFI) 소장을 맡고 있다.[1]

쇼트랜드는 국방부에서 6년간 근무한 뒤 2005년 크랜필드에 고고학 및 법의학 분석 센터를 설립했다.[1]
